Safe access and a clear tipping area come first.

A driver may refuse entry or tipping if the site, access route, weather or instructions appear unsafe.

Receiver checklist

  • Confirm driveway width, surface and slope
  • Remove low branches and identify overhead lines
  • Provide turning or safe reversing arrangements
  • Keep people, pets and machinery clear
  • Identify the tipping location before the vehicle enters
  • Reassess ground conditions after rain
  • Use a spotter where agreed and safe
Do not direct a truck into an area that may collapse, bog, roll or prevent a safe exit. The driver retains final authority over vehicle safety.
